September 20th is our Kick off weekend of Together in Victory service. We will learn all about our future church home and where God is taking our faith family in Humboldt County. We will pray and surrender to God's call for each of our lives and what He wants us to do sacrificially to build not our new facility but the Kingdom of God in the area. September 27th, following our worship celebration is our 2nd Ownership Class. We don't do average membership @ Victory we encourage people to own their faith as vibrant serving parts of our local faith family. Come discover our vision, mission, and structure of our faith family and where you can onramp and also meet needs in the body in a deepening relationship with its head Jesus Christ.
In the Book of Habakkuk God shares His vision with the prophet so that God's people can live it. At Victory we celebrate what God has done in and through us as well as look to the future and where He is taking us. A church without vision based upon God's leading and Word is adrift. That is it changes with the times and is not anchored to God's Word. The local church is the body of Christ with Jesus as its head. What He commands us to do we obey, aligning with the Father's heart and remaining in His blessings and will. Each year we celebrate Vision weekend. If you do not have a church home or want to know more about Victory this is the weekend to tune in or attend to see what God is doing in Humboldt and the world in His Victory!
Victory Church has secured and paid for land looking to build its new church home in 2027. The location of the land is along HWY 169 on the way out of town to the South. It is a fantastic and visible location to build a facility to serve and bless our community and county alike. We want it to be a place where needs are met and people can come explore faith as well. Your Victory is here and it is growing!!!
The Bible demonstrates that when a person reaches an age of understanding that they can choose to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior they then publicly declare it in baptism. Every year we have at least one baptism weekend outdoors for those declaring Jesus is Lord. Last year we had fourteen individuals declare publicly their faith and this year many more are following Jesus' command to be baptized the last week in August. We practice baptism on children and adults who acknowledge Jesus is Lord by full immersion which was demonstrated in the Bible. We do not create or do any other form of baptism like infant baptism for it was never taught or demonstrated in the Bible. Things like infant baptism arose centuries after Jesus' ministry trying to answer fears of parents as to what happens if a baby or young child decides to follow Jesus in life. At Victory we believe that if a person doesn't reach the ability or age to decide Jesus is the Savior of the world the Lord takes them to heaven out of His grace, mercy, and divine love. Everyone else is commanded to be baptized after they are born again that is why Victory baptizes believers in accordance to the Bible. God's terms, God's ways.
