PURPOSE
We exist to lead people to become fully engaged followers of Jesus Christ. Together we strive for spiritual growth, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe there is one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He is the all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving. We believe this world and all humanity began with Him and is all held together by Him. God is eternally existent in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, also known as The Trinity. (Genesis 1:1,26,27; Genesis 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14). All our striving is to be fully known and fully loved. God who fully knows and loves us, offers us a relationship with Him, not in our work and deeds, but in our reception of his love (Ephesians 2:8-10, John 3:16, Romans 5:8)
JESUS
We believe Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. He was born of a virgin to God as his Father and Mary as His earthly mother. He was the only man to have lived a sinless life. He died on the cross for humankind and thus atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in the power and glory (Issiah 9:6, John 1:1, John 1:14, John 20:28-29)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips, and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service. (Mark 3:11, John 3:6,14:17, 14:26, and Acts 2:38)
THE BIBLE
We believe the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority for determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, the Bible is inspired, infallible, and inerrant and therefore fully reliable and relevant to our lives today. (Proverbs 30:5, Romans 16:25, 26; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peters 1:20,21)
SALVATION
In order to receive forgiveness and “new birth” we must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and submit to His will for our lives. We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Salvation is a gift from God, not as a result of our good works or of any human effort, it cannot be earned. (Ephesians 2:9)
REPENTANCE
We believe repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ. In order to receive forgiveness, we must repent from our sins, which allows us to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:21; Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9)
BAPTISM
Baptism is a command from Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20). We believe Jesus instructed his disciples to baptize new believers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that baptism symbolizes the washing away of sins and the new life we have in Christ (Romans 6:4) Baptism is the initiation into the family of God, and it is a symbol of repentance and spiritual cleansing from sin and a life devoted to Jesus. We believe the entire household is under the redemption of Jesus, meaning children are welcome to be Baptized. Children of parents who are active and believing in Jesus and are a part of the church, are the responsibility of the Church to see that they are nurtured and led to a personal acceptance of Jesus.
COMMUNION
We believe that Holy Communion represents our redemption through the suffering and death of Christ. Those who eat the broken bread and drink the blessed cup in faith partake of the body and blood of Christ until Jesus returns. We will not withhold the Sacraments from anyone presenting themselves in good faith and who desires to grow closer to God. We believe with Holy Communion that the table is open to all who desire to love and worship God and repent of their sins. (Matthew 26:26-29)
ETERNITY
We believe people were created to exist forever. We believe that Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 5:3, 12, 20; Matthew 6:20; Matthew 19:21; Matthew 25:34, 41; John 17:24; Revelation 14;9-11; Revelations 20: 12-15; Revelation 21:8). Instead of death, followers of Jesus Christ receive the hope of new life for all eternity.
THE CHURCH
We believe the church is the Body of Christ. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. The church is a group of believers who adhere to the preaching and teaching of Holy Scripture, communal prayer and worship of God, regular fellowship, and the breaking of bread. The church is where faith and unity grows. We strive for spiritual growth through the power of the Holy Spirit. God can and will transform every part of our lives. We believe Jesus is coming again to gather us up to live with the Lord forever (1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17).
