Welcome to Victory Church's website.  We recently celebrated our first-year anniversary with a potluck after the service on July 21, 2024.

History of Victory Church

Victory Church of Humboldt was created after Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt voted not to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church on June 29, 2023.  A small group of people met on June 30, 2023, to discuss where we go from here.  The group consisted of Doug and Lorrie Bacon, Dennis and Glenda Knight, Melanie and David Edge, Sandi Collins, and Susan Carlson.  The meeting took place at Doug and Lorrie Bacon’s home.  A meeting was set up with notification in the Humboldt Reminder for current and former members of Faith United Methodist Church to meet and discuss “Where do we go from here?” on July 17, 2023, at the Hardy Church at the Humboldt County Historical Museum.

On July 17, 2023, a consensus of the people attending agreed to form a new church that will be Bible Based.  During that meeting, Pastor Cris and Pastor Jennifer Decious notified us that they were leaving the Methodist Church as of July 17, 2023, and agreed to be the first pastors.

On July 23, 2023, the first service was held at the Hardy Church at the Humboldt County Historical Museum.  There were 77 in attendance.

In the Fall of 2023, Victory Women was formed.  Wednesday night prayer group, potluck dinner, children and youth group, and Bible studies began. Sunday school for the children and adults began.

On November 5, 2023, 116 people became members of Victory Church.

On July 10, 2024, Pastor Cris and Jennifer Decious resigned as pastors of Victory Church.

On February 1, 2025, Pastor Michael Ames, Jennifer, and Addy Ames joined Victory Church.

On July 20, 2025, we celebrated our 2nd year anniversary with a church service and also a potluck.
